Expressive Arts Therapy is a type of psychotherapy. Expressive Arts Therapy collaborates with different psychotherapy theories, uses 5 different art modalities to further foster deeper personal growth and better wellbeing. The 5 art modalities include

We encourage the service users to express and explore their feelings through different ways. More importantly, to develop a trustworthy relationship and to walk with them throughout the whole therapy process.

Play therapy is a form of therapy used primarily for children. That’s because children may not be able to process their own emotions or articulate problems to parents or other adults.

While it may look like an ordinary playtime, play therapy can be much more than that.

Play Therapy is not the same as regular, everyday play. While spontaneous play is a natural and essential part of the developmental process, Play Therapy is a systematic and therapeutic approach.  Play Therapists have earned a graduate mental health degree and are licensed mental health professionals with extensive training, supervision, and education in Play Therapy. Play Therapy should only be utilized by specially trained mental health professionals such as Certified Therapeutic Play Practitioner or Certified/ Registered Play Therapist.

It is suitable for child age between 2 to 14 years old.

Filial Play Coaching is an intervention that helps parents/carers to bond more with their children by using play to strengthen their (parent-child) relationship and improve their children’s mental and emotional development. 

• Research shows that it is necessary that children thrive in nurturing environments as this impacts their emotional, social and cognitive development.

• Children with a secure attachment are associated with being confident, resilient and autonomous with an ability to regulate their emotions. These children are more able to manage feelings positively and build healthy relationships (friendships and future intimate relationships).

• Children with an insecure attachment are associated with low self-esteem and have difficulty to trust. There is a higher chance of having behavioural problems, emotional difficulties and mental illness when they are older (depending on the type of insecure attachment).
